Less famous than the Val Vény and Ferret, the Val Sapin is one of the most intimate and suggestive spots in Courmayeur.
It is an austere but charming valley, with wild nature and the ancient atmosphere typical of mountains places.
From the Val Sapin, close to the Torrente dello Tsapy, it is possible to reach the Val Ferret and the Col Liconi and the Testa Bernarda, through the many tracks departing from there.
This valley was known and populated the very past: the cow moos we hear today replace the old sounds of iron forges.
In fact, there are still some argentiferous lead mines of Roman age, known as Trou des Romains.
